adidas becomes new kit sponsor of Singapore national football team in multi-year FAS partnership

The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and adidas have announced a new multi-year partnership that will see the German sportswear brand become the kit sponsor of Singapore’s national football team, while extending its involvement into the Singapore Premier League, youth development and broader fan engagement.

The partnership begins with the launch of new Home and Away kits for the 2026 season. Both were developed over several months between FAS and adidas, with the aim of balancing modern performance requirements with references to Singapore football’s past.

The Home jersey keeps the familiar all-red identity, but adds navy blue and white detailing around the collar and sleeves. Woven into the fabric is a wave motif intended to reflect Singapore’s character; calm on the surface, but driven by energy beneath.

It is a subtle design device rather than an obvious graphic, and one that gives the shirt more texture without straying too far from tradition.

The Away jersey takes the more nostalgic route. Coventry Blue returns as the main colour, drawing inspiration from Singapore’s celebrated 1977 kit. It is a deliberate nod to an earlier generation of Lions, and one that makes the new partnership feel connected to local football history rather than simply wrapped in new branding.

That heritage is also reflected in the launch visuals. The campaign features current national players alongside former Singapore internationals, including Fandi Ahmad, Aleksandar Duric, Shahril Ishak, Nazri Nasir and Daniel Bennett.

Badri Ghent, General Secretary of the Football Association of Singapore, said the national jersey represents more than what players wear on the pitch.

“It is a symbol of pride for everyone who supports Singapore football,” he said. “Our partnership with adidas marks an exciting new era as we continue to build a stronger future for Singapore football. Together, we hope this new kit will inspire our players, unite our fans, and strengthen the bond between our National Teams and Singaporeans.”

Performance has not been overlooked either. Both jerseys use adidas CLIMACOOL+ technology, which is designed to help regulate heat and improve comfort during play. The kits also feature lenticular crests, while the Away jersey carries the adidas Trefoil, a detail the brand says is reserved for top-tier federations including Germany, Argentina and Japan.

Hariss Harun, captain of the Singapore national team, said the partnership reinforces the relationship between performance and identity.

“Putting on the National Team jersey should always feel special, and adidas understands the importance of that connection between performance, identity, and pride,” he said. “There is genuine excitement within the squad, and I think this partnership sends a strong signal that everyone is invested in pushing Singapore football forward together.”

The Lions are expected to wear the new kits for the first time on 7 August, during the national team’s first home match under the partnership.

adidas will also supply the official match ball for the Singapore Premier League and Singapore Cup, while both parties say they intend to work together on youth development, football academies and emerging talent pathways.

Forrest Li, President of the Football Association of Singapore, said adidas’ commitment would play an important role in advancing the local game.

“We are grateful to have adidas join us as a long-term partner of Singapore football,” he said. “Their commitment and support will play an important role in advancing the game. We hope this partnership inspires more organisations and Singaporeans to step forward and join us in our journey to bring the pride and joy back to the sport we love.”

adidas also anticipates opportunities after the FIFA World Cup 2026 season for top international teams to travel to Singapore for friendlies. Such visits could create training and exposure opportunities for national team and youth players, while giving local audiences the chance to engage with higher-level football more directly.

Alongside the national team kits, adidas is introducing broader fanwear and culturewear, beginning with a “Satu Nada” T-shirt created with local visual artist Slac Satu. Available in black and white, the design incorporates the national team’s rallying cry and draws on a lyric associated with Singabrigade.

More community collaborations are expected in future releases. FAS and adidas also say they are exploring new fan activations, stadium experiences, exclusive content and community initiatives aimed at making support for The Lions more immersive.

As part of the launch campaign, adidas worked with Singabrigade on a film built around the experiences and passion of Singapore supporters across different generations.

Chen Ruiyuan, Country Manager of adidas Singapore, said the brand intends to be the “Plus One” standing alongside the football community at every level.

“Our multi-year deal with the FAS is a symbol of our commitment to growing local football and supporting talent for the long run,” he said. “By rallying the community and the players together, we can amplify the impact of the community to enable Singapore football to reach its full potential.”

The standard national team jersey will retail at S$99, while the on-field authentic version is priced at S$169. The full apparel range will be available in men’s, women’s and youth sizes.

Sales begin from 2 August through adidas’ Singapore website and app, the adidas Brand Centre Orchard, the FAS website, official adidas and FAS Shopee stores, Weston, selected retailers and stadium outlets on matchdays. Wider store availability begins from 7 August across adidas and Weston locations islandwide.
