IKEA Singapore has partnered Life by City Energy to expand its Home Design Service, giving homeowners access to smart gas appliances and installation planning as part of the same renovation journey.
The partnership covers products such as gas hobs, cooker hoods, dryers and water heaters, with IKEA’s Home Design specialists coordinating directly with Life by City Energy’s experts on appliance specifications, gas piping and installation requirements.
One point of contact for more of the renovation
Previously, customers who wanted gas appliances had to source them separately and return with the specifications before their kitchen plans could be finalised.
Under the new arrangement, the IKEA Home Design specialist remains the homeowner’s main point of contact, coordinating cabinetry, appliance placement, gas works and installation schedules with Life by City Energy. The aim is to reduce mismatched specifications, installation delays and unnecessary rework.
Since its soft launch in 2025, IKEA Singapore’s Home Design Service has helped around 300 homeowners plan and complete their spaces. Life by City Energy is its first external partner to expand the end-to-end service.
Smart gas solutions built into the design
Homeowners can now view Life by City Energy products at IKEA stores and incorporate them into kitchen and bathroom plans from the outset.
Where gas appliances are selected, IKEA and Life by City Energy will coordinate appliance dimensions, placement and gas-piping requirements before renovation begins. Site visits and technical checks can also be arranged where necessary.
“Creating a home involves many connected decisions, but the experience does not have to feel complicated,” Steve Croasdale, Commercial Manager for IKEA Singapore, mentioned.
Soh Guan Hong, Senior Vice President of Residential Sales at City Energy, added that the collaboration would bring smarter IoT-enabled gas solutions into the home design process earlier.
Available at IKEA Alexandra and Tampines
The expanded service is now available at IKEA Alexandra and IKEA Tampines. Launch offers include a Home Essentials Package from S$1,459, comprising a Life gas hob, cooker hood and gas water heater, together with a S$150 IKEA gift card.
Hob and hood bundles start from S$839, while customers purchasing selected standalone gas water heaters can receive up to S$100 in IKEA gift cards.
