top 5 nature themed spas in Singapore.

Looking for a romantic Valentines’ Day spa experience? Or perhaps you’re in need of some genuine pampering time of your own. If so, read on to discover some amazing nature themed spas in Singapore.

There’s nothing more peaceful than being surrounded by nature in all its glory. The soothing sounds of insects chirping in the distance, and the comforting rustle of leaves tickled gently by the wind. The only thing that could make it just a little more perfect? Getting fully and thoroughly pampered, of course.

I was once lucky enough to discover a spa in Siem Reap where you could enjoy a massage in an outdoor pavilion overlooking the river. It was by far the most rejuvenating spa experience I’d ever had. Since then, I jump at every opportunity to enjoy a massage or spa treatment that brings me as close to nature as possible.

But in the concrete jungle that is Singapore, are there actually legit nature themed spas? I’m talking about spas that incorporate elements of nature in their treatments or facilities, or actually allow customers to enjoy their treatments outdoors. Well, long story short, I believe there are. So read on to discover 5 of our favourite nature themed spas in Singapore.

escape to a garden paradise at Aramsa.

Located amidst the greenery in Bishan park, Aramsa Spa features 17 treatment rooms where you can enjoy a range of treatments from deep tissue massages to Javanese lulur scrubs, and even TCM treatments like gua sha and cup gliding.

Your experience with nature starts at the beginning.  Once you traverse through the park and enter the establishment, friendly staff then take you through their luscious spa gardens, past quaint wooden showers and to your treatment room. Inside, each room is uniquely designed, incorporating elements of the garden ambiance that surrounds it.

What we love most? Each room features outdoor showers or baths that you can enjoy after your treatment. That way, you get to relax and rejuvenate in the privacy of your own little garden sanctuary, whether you go at it alone or with a loved one.

If you’re not into spa treatments, there’s also a space for yoga classes, hairdressing salon, lash and brow studio, and nearby restaurants to keep you occupied.

discover the so, so, relaxing So Spa.

It’s been said that the French know a lot about lurve. They also know a thing or two about cosmetology. At So Spa by Sofitel, their wellness treatments range from massages, facials, body wraps and the works, and incorporate luxury French skincare products.

Yes, their therapists are experienced (a minimum of 15 years), and their unique treatments are extremely invigorating – but you wouldn’t (and shouldn’t) expect anything less from 5-star luxury hotel.

For nature lovers however, the highlight is their spa garden facilities. From cascading waterfalls (ooh), to steam facilities (ahh) and volcanic mud pools (say whut now), you’ll be able to relax in nature’s tranquility before or after your treatment. Access is available via a one-day pass, or as an add-on to other treatments.

Also, if you’re looking for the perfect couple experience too, be sure to book the outdoor couple spa suite which overlooks luscious greenery and tranquil waters for the ultimate romantic experience.

soak in a traditional Japanese onsen at Ikeda Spa.

There’s really nothing quite like Japanese hospitality, or omotenashi as it’s called there. Hidden amidst the lush greenery of Bukit Timah, Ikeda Spa aims to share a similar vision with Singapore. Founded in 2009, their Zen-inspired deco exudes tranquillity on the inside and out.

And while you can’t quite jet set to the calming natural onsen or hot springs at Hakone or Lake Kawaguchi, you can enjoy it at Ikeda. The spa features the Hinoki Onsen bath, which as its name suggests, is made of hinoki. This prized cypress wood is traditionally reserved for royalty in Japan. Perfect for the king or queen of the day. And yes, you deserve it.

Or if you prefer, opt for their relaxing Ganbanyoku detox massage that’s carried out on a therapeutic stone bed. Which I suppose gives a whole new meaning to getting closer to nature. And to extend your inner respite just a little longer, end your visit by lounging at their Japanese zen garden.

must try:
Ganbanyoku detox massage, Hinoki onsen bath, and Geisha organic facial.

If you’re someone who appreciates some truly well-thought out spa treatments, you’ll love Auriga Spa.

Named after a constellation in the northern hemisphere, the award-winning Auriga spa offers holistic therapies designed to heal and regenerate body and soul. Likewise, its wide range of traditional and locally-inspired treatments ranging from massages, facials, and body and bath experiences are themed according to the cycles of nature and the moon.

If that just went over your head, just know that you’re in for a truly relaxing, natural experience. We’re talking individual and couple rooms overlooking private outdoor gardens, along with facilities including Experience Showers, and Ice Fountain and more.

So yes, it’s going to leave your wallet considerably lighter after you walk out. But then again, there’s a reason it’s the first spa in Singapore to receive a five-star status from Forbes Travel Guide for 10 consecutive years. Woah.

Auriga Signature Moon Ritual, Senja Sunyi and Kundalini.

On the outside, Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La seems pretty much like how you’d imagine a hotel spa to be. Treatment rooms in muted, soothing neutral shades, and a range of treatments including massages, facials, wraps that cater to many.

But what’s sure to get your nature-loving senses tingling is their quaint semi-outdoor pavilion. Surrounded by tall palm trees and assorted greenery, the pavilion is only available for solo customers looking to enjoy a Thai massage.

Also, as with the other spas in scenic Sentosa, you can be assured of a much-welcome, quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

must try:
Singaporean wellness escape, Signature Asian blend massage and Spa-Tea (if you often get peckish after treatments).
