14 captivating artworks that inspire sustainability at i Light Singapore 2023.

i Light Singapore 2023 will run from 1 to 25 June 2023 with 14 captivating light art installations.

Organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and presented by DBS, these artworks will transform Marina Bay into a visual playground where art, technology and sustainability co-exist in harmony.

This rendition of i Light Singapore sees 22 artists from 8 countries culminating together to showcase the Festival theme of ‘A New Wave’. Inspired by the colour blue, most of the artworks on display utilise sustainable materials that highlight nature’s blue spaces such as oceans and rivers.

Visitors can also immerse themselves in artworks that embody sustainable and innovative design, highlighting quintessential and pertinent social issues that plague modern-day society.

Hungry from that walk? Visitors to i Light can also head down for a gastronomic and musical treat at GastroBeats, located at the Festival Village at Bayfront Event Space.

Here, a delectable spread of mouth-watering cuisine awaits, served by 50 homegrown food and beverage vendors. Local musicians will also be available for live performances, and fun-filled carnival games and bouncy castles are on-site too for added fun!

The DBS zone will also feature interactive experiences and Instagrammable visual installations designed around themes such as self-care, sustainable living and being future-ready.

For those who are interested to dive deeper into i Light’s immersive culture and history can participate in the Light Forum. These are a series of talks and workshops conducted on the first weekend of the Festival by lighting designers and participating artists of i Light Singapore 2023.

Visitors will be able to learn more about the future of nightscapes, sustainable lighting design to lighting strategies that enhance well-being and human connections.

Guided tours conducted by Let’s Go Tour Singapore are also available to find out more about the creative stories, ideas and fun facts behind the delightful artworks.

“We are thrilled to present the ninth edition of i Light Singapore, featuring a delightful array of artworks and programmes that will captivate and inspire festival goers. We look forward to welcoming everyone once again at Marina Bay, as we illuminate the cityscape and ignite conversations about our collective responsibility and actions to build a more sustainable future.” said Mr Jason Chen, Festival Director and Director (Place Management) of URA.

For those who are interested to catch these artworks for yourselves, i Light Singapore 2023 will be held from 1 to 25 June 2023, 7.30 pm to 11.00 pm daily. These timings extend to 12.00 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
