The Sony Reon Pocket Pro is a sleek, wearable thermo-device that promises to be your personal air-con unit.
Now in its most advanced form, the Reon Pocket Pro turns the dial up on cooling technology altogether. For the first time in the Reon series, Sony’s engineers have introduced dual thermo-modules, two independent cooling plates working simultaneously to double the cooling area and heat absorption rate.
Pair that with a newly developed heat-dissipation fan that pushes out nearly twice the airflow of its predecessor, and you’ve got a device that could be the MVP of your commute.
Using a mix of internal algorithms and environmental data, like your body temperature, movement, humidity, and ambient heat, the device continuously adjusts itself for optimal comfort.
Even the Auto Start/Stop function has been refined, sensing not just skin contact but also motion, so it knows when to kick in and when to shut off. The result is intelligent temperature regulation that lasts up to 15 hours on SMART mode or 34 hours on Level 1 cooling, enough to outlast a flight to London and the Tube ride after.
It’s compact enough to disappear under a dress shirt and runs 50% quieter than its predecessor. That means no more awkward buzzing during Zoom calls or boardroom meetings.
And because Sony understands that fiddling with your phone in the middle of a conversation isn’t always ideal, they’ve equipped the device with physical buttons on the side. Toggle between COOL and WARM modes or adjust intensity levels, no app required.
The neckband has been redesigned with a larger flexible tube, plus a new silicone extension for added comfort, especially important for long wear sessions. The cooling plate itself has been reshaped to conform more naturally to the body, maximising contact without compromising mobility.
For the organised among us, there’s even a new custom carrying case, complete with velcro support and extra pockets for your accessories.
