Canon Singapore’s #iamkyosei campaign puts the spotlight on everyday acts of kindness

Canon Singapore is inviting people to look a little closer at the communities around them. The company has launched the next phase of its #iamkyosei campaign, inviting members of the public to nominate individuals whose kindness, dedication or resilience has made a positive difference to others.

Running from 1 October to 31 December 2026, the #iamkyosei campaign is built around Kyosei, Canon’s corporate philosophy of “living and working together for the common good”.

Turning Kyosei into everyday action

Participants can nominate someone by publishing an original photograph or short video on Instagram, introducing the individual and explaining how their actions have helped others. Submissions must tag the nominee and @canonkyoseiasia, together with the hashtag #iamkyosei.

“For Canon, Kyosei is far more than a corporate philosophy. Rather, it is a lived experience demonstrated everyday by ordinary individuals who uplift the communities around them. Our lives are surrounded by unsung heroes whose everyday acts of empathy, kindness, and resilience often go unnoticed. Through the #iamkyosei initiative, we are turning a spotlight toward these champions, providing a platform to honour their contributions, elevate their stories, and inspire a collective movement of positive action across our community.”

Toshiyuki (Tiger) Ishii, President and CEO of Canon Singapore

Local personalities and organisations join the campaign

Canon is working with a group of Singapore personalities to broaden the campaign’s reach. They include Preeti Nair, Ng Yi Yang, lewloh, Zaihar, Jie Hao, Cheryl Tay, Paralympic swimmer Yip Pin Xiu, Melissa Lam and Fauzi Azzhar. Each will share personal stories while encouraging their communities to participate.

Community partners include the Singapore Bowling Federation, National Volunteer And Philanthropy Centre through its BAGUS Together programme, Tower Transit Singapore, YMCA and APSN.

“Resilience and kindness often show up in the quietest moments. In the people who choose to support others day after day without expecting the spotlight. I hope this movement encourages all of us to recognise the everyday strength and empathy around us.”

Monthly prizes and a Canon EOS grand prize

Three winning pairs will be selected each month throughout the three-month campaign. Each pair will receive a Kyosei Kit containing a Canon SELPHY QX20 Compact Photo Printer and campaign merchandise. All monthly winners will then be considered for the grand prize, which includes a Canon EOS camera.

As part of the final assessment, winning pairs will participate in follow-up content in January 2027, such as an interview, written response, photograph or short video exploring the nominee’s story in greater detail. The grand prize winners will be announced that month.

Canon is also developing an online Find Your Kyosei personality quiz, which will match participants with a Kyosei persona based on how their everyday habits contribute to the common good.

The #iamkyosei contest runs until 31 December 2026, with further campaign details and community stories available through Canon Singapore’s dedicated campaign channels.
