Barilla brings Formula 1-inspired Gran Ruote Racing Edition pasta to Singapore

With the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2026 just weeks away, Barilla is bringing a rather different kind of race-day machinery to the table: the Barilla Gran Ruote Racing Edition.

This limited-edition pasta shape is inspired by the wheels of a Formula 1 car. Created as part of Barilla’s partnership with Formula 1, the release is the first in a planned series of special editions linking the worlds of motorsport and food through ideas of precision, passion and craftsmanship.

Made in Italy from 100 per cent high-quality durum wheat, the pasta features a ridged, wheel-like shape designed to hold sauce while retaining a firm al dente bite. Visually, it is unmistakably motorsport-inspired, but functionally it remains a proper pasta shape rather than a novelty piece destined to disappear at the bottom of a pantry.

That connection sits neatly with Domenica Italiana, the Italian Sunday tradition of gathering around the table to cook, eat and spend time together.

In Italy, Sunday meals are rarely rushed affairs. They are less about feeding people efficiently and more about creating a reason for everyone to be in the same room. Barilla is adapting that spirit for Formula 1 fans, encouraging them to turn race day into a similar ritual.

“Barilla Gran Ruote Racing Edition pasta brings together two worlds that Barilla and Formula 1 are passionate about; the excitement of racing and the joy of sharing good food. As the Official Pasta Partner of Formula 1, we created this special edition pasta to celebrate the values that unite our brands: passion, precision and togetherness.”
