15th Club opens academy-led indoor golf and social hub at The Cathay

15th Club The Cathay

15th Club is a new academy-led indoor golf studio and social lounge which opened at The Cathay on 28 July 2026.

Indoor golf is becoming less about simply playing a virtual round and more about creating a proper place to train. That is the thinking behind 15th Club. Rather than positioning itself as another simulator venue, 15th Club is built around structured coaching, data-driven practice and a more social club environment for golfers who want to improve their game without heading to a traditional course.

For many players, finding several uninterrupted hours for a full round is not always practical. An indoor facility offers a more flexible alternative, particularly for those trying to fit lessons or practice around work and family commitments.

One of the unique prepositions of the 15th Club is its academy programme. Coaching is led by PGA-trained professionals and includes one-to-one lessons, small-group sessions and junior development classes, catering to everyone from complete beginners to more experienced players.

The facility uses Foresight Sports launch monitor technology to provide real-time performance data during each session. That allows coaches to analyse swing mechanics, identify areas for improvement and track progress over time.

“We established 15th Club to combine professional golf instruction with the social and community aspects of the sport,” the team behind 15th Club said. “It provides a contemporary indoor environment where data-driven insights help golfers improve their game in a comfortable setting.”

More than a row of simulator bays

The Cathay facility includes three open simulator bays, four private rooms and a dedicated club lounge.

The private rooms are intended for both coaching and social play, while the lounge can be used for hospitality, corporate events and community gatherings. The overall layout leans towards a contemporary club atmosphere rather than a conventional sports facility.

Golf has always been as much about conversation and community as it is about the scorecard. A driving range can teach you how to hit the ball, but it rarely encourages you to stay once the bucket is empty. 15th Club is trying to build both experiences under one roof.

The climate-controlled setting also gives players the ability to practise regardless of weather conditions. Plus, for beginners, the indoor format may also make the sport feel less intimidating.

Learning in a private or controlled environment removes some of the pressure that can come with stepping onto a full course for the first time.

Golf with measurable progress
