ION Art gallery is presenting Voice of Art 6: Pause to Begin from 26 May to 1 June 2026, offering a week-long exhibition organised by Be One Gallery that brings together established and emerging artists alongside a series of public programmes.
The exhibition explores themes of reflection, renewal and new beginnings, and is open daily from 10.00am to 10.00pm. Admission is free.
This sixth edition of Voice of Art builds on the previous instalment, Roots & Wings, by shifting its attention to the idea of pause. The exhibition considers how moments of stillness can create space for clarity, healing and change.
The show is positioned not simply as a display of artworks, but as an invitation for visitors to slow down and engage more deliberately with both the work and their own reflections.
The exhibition features a curated selection of works by local and international artists, with the organisers framing each piece as part of a broader conversation around introspection and transformation.
The intention is to present art not only as something to be viewed, but as something that encourages deeper personal engagement.
A key feature of this year’s edition is the inclusion of the 12 winning works from the Young Artists Art Competition: Art for Tomorrow.
The competition was created for students aged 10 to 15 in Singapore who are interested in pursuing the arts, and aims to provide younger artists with both encouragement and exposure.
The upcoming Prize Giving ceremony will recognise the Top 3 Best Works and Top 10 winners from the competition. More broadly, the organisers say the initiative is intended to build confidence and give young artists an early experience of professional exhibition practice.
Beyond the Voice of Art exhibition itself, the programme has been designed to encourage more active participation. Activities include an acrylic painting demonstration by Filipino artist Janddie Castillo on 27 May from 3.00pm to 5.00pm, followed by the official opening ceremony and prize giving on 28 May from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
On 29 May, Singaporean artist Raymond Li will conduct a watercolour demonstration from 3.00pm to 5.00pm.
The weekend programme continues with an artist sharing session on 30 May from 3.00pm to 5.00pm. On 31 May, visitors can attend a life art drawing session from 3.00pm to 6.00pm, open to all participants who bring their own materials, followed by an Art & Wine Pairing session from 4.00pm to 7.00pm.
