SHARP Launches R-20SR Retro-Inspired Solo Microwave Oven

SHARP R-20SR

With the SHARP R-20SR retro-styled solo microwave oven, the brand is offering something that feels a touch more considered and rather more at home in the design-conscious kitchens of today.

In many modern Singapore homes, space is limited, surfaces are carefully curated, and every object has to justify its presence. A microwave cannot simply be useful anymore. It must earn its keep aesthetically as well.

SHARP appears to understand this shift. The R-20SR’s retro-inspired silhouette, analogue control dials and pull-handle door give it a distinctly old-school flavour, while its pastel and statement colour options allow it to function almost like a decorative accent in the kitchen.

The company also makes the point that such retro-inspired pieces can introduce warmth and personality into minimalist homes without adding clutter or demanding extra room. That is an important distinction. In compact urban living, style must work efficiently.

Of course, a microwave cannot survive on looks alone. It still has to get breakfast warmed, leftovers revived, and frozen ingredients defrosted before hunger turns civilised people into slightly unreasonable ones.

The R-20SR delivers 700W of microwave power and offers six adjustable cooking levels: Low, Defrost, Medium-Low, Medium, Medium-High and High. It has a 20-litre capacity and has a compact footprint, measuring 45.2cm wide, 26.2cm high and 35.2cm deep.
