Some cameras are born to sit in glass cabinets. The Leica SL3 Reporter is very clearly not one of them.
This new design variant of the mirrorless Leica full-frame system camera takes the already impressive SL3 and outfits it for the rough-and-tumble world of reportage and press work, the sort of places where dust, rain and the occasional elbow are part of the job description.
The SL3 Reporter is engineered for photographers who cannot afford to miss a frame, even when the environment is working against them. It combines maximum functionality and reliability with a design that is understated to the point of being almost stealthy, until you look closer and notice the thought that has gone into every surface, texture and line.

The body wears a particularly scratch-resistant dark green finish, paired with an aramid fabric cover. Here, it pulls double duty: extra protection against abrasion and environmental wear, and a markedly improved grip when you are shooting or filming in less-than-ideal conditions.
Over time, the trim is designed to develop a patina, a visual diary of knocks and journeys that feels entirely appropriate for a true reportage camera that is meant to work, travel and age with its owner.

The dark green paintwork is complemented by black control elements, and the familiar red Leica logo is deliberately absent on the front. This is not a camera that needs to introduce itself.
Under the skin, the Leica SL3 Reporter is every bit an SL3. It shares the same core technical platform as the series model: cutting-edge imaging technology, outstanding image quality of up to 60 megapixels, and precise autofocus that lets professionals work quickly and decisively.
It is built from high-grade materials, with the sort of “Made in Germany” manufacturing quality that Leica has spent decades building its reputation on. Robust, reliable and surprisingly intuitive to operate, it is equally at home capturing stills and video in demanding environments.

The Leica SL3 Reporter is now available worldwide at all Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store and authorised specialist retailers, priced at S$11,000 including GST.
