Did you know you’re likely being exposed to low levels of pesticide everyday? Whether it’s from eating, drinking, or breathing them in, the use of pesticide plays a significant role in food production. It’s become difficult to avoid!
Although not toxic to humans in small amounts, the usage of these pesticides themselves create larger-scale issues for the environment (including humans!) as a whole. Pesticides can contaminate soil and water, killing insects, birds, fish, and even non-targeted plants nearby. So although useful in protecting crops, the role of pesticides in food production comes with its issues.

Which is why Pandawa Agri Indonesia (PAI) is stepping in. In a strategic collaboration with NAFAS Agri Services Sdn. Bhd. (NASSB) and FGV Agri Services Sdn. Bhd. (FGVAS), a global agriculture and agricultural commodities company based in Malaysia, PAI is introducing WEED Solut-ioN® to the Malaysian rice smallholder ecosystem through government distribution channels and open markets.

The product, WEED Solut-ioN®, is a pesticide reductant introduced by PAI that uses a special formulation to reduce pesticide doses in agriculture, while still allowing for the same effectiveness as the use of a single dose of pesticide.
It has been supplied to Indonesian farmers and plantations since 2014. In Indonesia alone, over 3.5 million litres of this reductant has been used and recorded across various agricultural sectors.
By reducing pesticide use by up to 50 percent, this solution helps Malaysia’s agricultural sector in more ways than just lesser environmental damage. It may also lead to cost optimization for over 200,000 rice farmers in Malaysia.
The partnership between PAI, NASSB, and FGVAS, symbolises the combined support and endeavours of the three companies, Malaysia, and farmers in fostering a farming environment that is healthier, safer, and much more environmentally sustainable.
During the introduction of WEED Solut-ioN® at the Seremonial Rapat Agung NAFAS, En.
