Comprising seven intricately designed furniture pieces inspired by the art and architecture of 1890s Vienna Secessionists.
Established in 2019, Marano has set out to redefine the norms of furniture design by collaborating with young, underrepresented designers from Asia.
Their aim? To create innovative thematic designs that marry quality craftsmanship with a global platform, and the Vienna Collection is a testament to their vision.
Drawing inspiration from the Vienna Secession era, where artists boldly broke away from traditional artistic styles, Marano Furniture’s Vienna Collection showcases statement pieces that seamlessly blend art and functionality. The collection exudes an air of chic elegance, with contrasting hues of black, grey, and amber, and an emphasis on geometric designs and clean lines. Each piece in this collection is a testament to the philosophy that art should be an integral part of our everyday lives.
Christopher Lim, the Managing Director of Marano Furniture, shared his inspiration behind the collection. It all began with a serendipitous encounter—an auction in a small Italian town where Secession chairs were being sold. The delicate simplicity of these chairs, juxtaposed with their rich heritage and character, left an indelible mark on Lim.
He wanted to capture the essence of this era, not only by incorporating its design principles but also by infusing bold colours and clean contours. Marano Furniture strives to push the boundaries of design while maintaining practicality, creating showpieces that inspire and captivate.
Jimmy Yin, the Chief Designer of Marano Furniture, believes that success lies in the details. And indeed, the Vienna Collection reflects this belief. Each piece is meticulously designed, with careful attention given to practical features and intricate adornments.
The result? Functional and aesthetically pleasing showpieces that elevate the art of living.
One standout piece in the collection is the flagship BERINI Sideboard. Inspired by Gustav Klimt’s renowned portrait “Adele Bloch-Bauer I,” this sideboard captures the abstract squares of the painting with opulent accents of amber and black.
The LUDO Console, another striking piece, pays homage to Gustav Klimt as one of the leaders of the Vienna Secession movement, contrasting clean lines and slender contours.
But the Vienna Collection doesn’t confine its artistry to the living area alone. The BENTI Bedroom line carries the timeless Vienna aesthetic into the realm of slumber. Crafted with premium Nappa leather and refined through advanced tanning technology, the BENTI bed exudes a sense of calmness and tranquillity with its cool undertones.
As Marano Furniture looks towards a more sustainable future, it’s worth noting that all the pieces in the Vienna Collection are handcrafted with E0-graded materials. These materials meet the highest Formaldehyde Emission standards, ensuring a healthier interior environment for your home.
