#GreenForProsperity – Geneco’s push for a greener Singapore this CNY.

From recycling programmes for red packets to contests for vouchers, Geneco is out to make a difference this upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY).

Chinese New Year is fast approaching, and you might be wondering where to get your red packets from. Look no further! #GreenForProsperity is Geneco’s third consecutive year of working towards the goal of conservation and recycling. As the top local residential electricity retailer, they strive to reinforce their motto – Power the Change. Intended to inspire Singaporeans and encourage eco-advocacy, the company will be cultivating meaningful partnerships and public interactions under their campaign.

“Aligned with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030, Geneco is dedicated to transforming Singapore into a City in Nature.” highlights Alex Chan, Head of Marketing at Geneco. He further adds: “Along with our Plant-A-Tree initiative with NParks where we have committed to planting 250 trees over 5 years, we look forward to creating more impactful initiatives to cement our belief in driving the sustainability-led narratives and actions with our partners and the public.”

In addition, Geneco has partnered with renowned celebrities like Rui En, Jessica Liu, and Tay Kewei to raise awareness. Plus, for the second year in a row, Geneco is collaborating with Garden City Fund (GCF). Together, they hope to ensure that citizens continue discovering a big range of local wildlife in natural spaces.

Professor Leo Tan, Chairman of the Garden City Fund, weighs in that the partnership helps to “highlight the importance of conservation and encourage community action, so that current and future generations can continue to appreciate and co-exist harmoniously with our flora and fauna.”

As part of their CNY campaign, Geneco has released a set of red packets featuring art of local wildlife. Namely, birds, herons, butterflies and fishes which act as a modern representation of Singapore’s biodiversity. Here, the dynamic golden lines symbolise the endless vibrancy and beauty of native wildlife, celebrating what is available around us.

A reminder of the true meaning of prosperity, the selected wildlife motifs aim to inspire locals to look harder at green spaces and feel amazed at the variety of wildlife around us. Simultaneously, the illustration seeks to remind us about the significance of protecting natural habitats and the development of conservation efforts.

In turn, Geneco too aims to donate $10,000 to biodiversity conservation and research efforts to NParks’ Garden City Fund to further highlight their commitment towards protecting wildlife. To reach their goal, the company intends to collect a total of 10,000 pledges to actively encourage the public to be part of this initiative. Pledge through Geneco’s campaign page, where a sum will be donated on each participant’s behalf.

Always wondered what to do with your red packets when CNY is over? Well, Geneco is collaborating with various organisations like REFASH, Wisma Atria and OTO to make recycling red packets even more accessible. Recycling bins will be located across 30 retail and office locations from 3rd January to 31st March 2023 to encourage Singaporeans to recycle their used red packets.

get involved from home.

You’re just in luck if you’re interested in participating in the campaign from the comfort of your own home! 888 lucky Geneco customers will be sent two exclusive sets of red packets when they successfully register their interest via a Geneco e-direct mailer. Besides that, the company will also be launching two different social media contests to encourage participation in their campaign.

Their first contest, from 28th December to 15th January 2023, will have Singaporeans commenting on the kind of wildlife they have seen in local green spaces. 100 winners will be selected from their Facebook and Instagram posts to win red packet sets alongside $28 eCapitaVouchers.

The second contest will run from 16th January to 12th February 2023. To win, all you have to do is name a recycling bin location and tag three friends in the comments on social media. 40 winners will be selected to win $28 worth of eCapitaVouchers each.

So what are you waiting for? Try your luck at the contests to win some goodies this new year!
