Slim stems, strong noise-cancelling and a price that doesn’t make you wince make the Samsung Buds3 FE their most sensible earbuds in years.
They might not be the flagship audio product in their lineup, but the Samsung Buds3 FE are more than capable on a daily commute.
From home to work on a weekday morning, the likes of MRT chatter, buskers, and construction sites did little to break the composure of these earbuds. No drama, no faffing about with settings mid-commute. And that, in essence, is their appeal: they simply get on with the job.
Design and comfort: small, stemmed, and pleasantly unobtrusive

Samsung has leaned fully into the AirPods-style stem design, and it’s the right call. The Buds3 FE are lighter than they look, with silicone eartips that create a proper seal. The build carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, so a quick dash through a rain shower won’t end the day. Pinch and swipe controls on the stems are intuitive and more reliable than the “tap vaguely at your ear” school of UX.
The case is compact and functional rather than flashy. There’s one notable omission: no wireless charging on this FE model, one of several premium niceties Samsung has pruned to keep the price keen.
Sound and ANC: better seal, better silence

Out of the box, there’s a gentle lift in the low end; a quick tweak in the Galaxy Wearable app evens things out if you prefer a studio-neutral flavour. More important is the FE’s sealed-tip fit, which dramatically improves passive isolation compared with the open Buds3.
Samsung’s own phones unlock the best experience via the Samsung Seamless Codec (SSC) and extras like Loudness Normalisation.
Calls: clear enough for a corridor interview
With an extra mic and improved noise reduction, the FEs hold up well for calls. Voices come through cleanly in typical café noise, and in strong winds they clamp down aggressively (as most buds do), but callers still heard me without repeating myself.
Controls, app and features: the right tools, sensibly arranged

Stems bring pinch to play/pause and swipes for volume, which quickly becomes second nature. Within the Galaxy Wearable app you’ll find ANC levels, EQ, fit tests and device switching for Samsung kit.
There’s also 360 Audio and Galaxy AI Interpreter support on compatible Galaxy phones, handy for travellers and the odd cross-border Zoom. However, do note that the Buds3 FE do not come with auto-pause when you remove a bud.
Battery life and charging: respectable, if not class-leading
Samsung rates the Buds3 FE at about 6 hours with ANC on (up to 8.5 hours with it off) and 24–30 hours total with the case, depending on your noise-cancelling habits.
In practice, a full workday with calls and a gym session in the evening left me with enough in the tank to get home. USB-C tops the case up briskly.
Price and positioning: the sensible middle

At SGD$168, the Buds3 FE sit neatly below the Buds3 Pro while fixing two of the Buds3’s biggest complaints: fit and isolation.
They sound confident, cancel noise well, fit better than the open Buds3, and integrate smoothly with Samsung phones. You lose wireless charging, fancy tracking and full cross-platform parity, but you keep what matters day to day.
If you’re already in the Galaxy ecosystem and want reliable ANC buds at a fair price, start here. If you’re on iOS or crave multipoint and every bell and whistle, look elsewhere.
For most of us, these are the right buds at the right price, and that’s a rarer thing than it should be.
