If you’ve ever queued at midnight for that one perfect prata, you’ll know good food has its own timetable. ChefGenie has decided to make that timetable yours.
In a first for Singapore, the AI-powered kitchen platform has launched an autonomous food fest at Punggol Digital District (PDD), a live showcase of 24/7, freshly cooked meals from beloved local brands, anchored by a cheeky opening special: over 4,000 dishes at $1.99 from 9–14 September 2025 (12pm–8pm).

Backed by EnterpriseSG, ChefGenie is running a six-month pilot to test autonomous kitchens as a manpower-lean expansion model and to warm diners up to the idea that robots can, in fact, cook a mean laksa.
The programme was launched on 9 September 2025 at PDD by Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, and Culture, Community, and Youth. PDD itself is a smart testbed; JTC’s business park, SIT, Punggol Coast Mall, public transport nodes and community amenities all in one grid, so the technology meets real life where it’s messy and interesting.

The line-up reads like a hawker-centre greatest hits album:
- Warong Pak Sapari (MICHELIN Bib Gourmand)
- Springleaf Prata (MICHELIN recommended)
- Eat Pizza
- Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks
- Takagi Ramen
- Tuk Tuk Cha
- The Hainan Story
- Instachef
From hand-pulled prata and slow-brewed laksa broth to delicate ramen and Taiwanese street snacks, each dish is reproduced by ChefGenie’s proprietary smart-cooking system, designed to capture technique so the plate that appears tastes like the one you remember.
Under the hood, ChefGenie is an answer to two old problems: inconsistent quality and shallow engagement. The team behind it looked at the usual suspects (frozen meals, tired vending tech) and built an AI kitchen that cooks to order, around the clock. For operators, that means a scalable, cost-efficient way to grow without stretching crews; for diners, it means fresh food in minutes, not a microwave minute pretending to be dinner.
ChefGenie’s stack automates stock tracking, ingredient replenishment and data analysis, while AI models handle demand forecasting, popular item suggestions, and real-time menu tweaks as tastes shift hour to hour.
“Autonomous kitchens are one way for F&B operators to develop new business models through the use of AI and technology. Enterprise Singapore will continue to support innovative formats like ChefGenie, to help local brands scale efficiently by leveraging automation, and remain relevant and competitive in today’s landscape,” said Jason Lim, Director, Food Services & Heartland Enterprises, Enterprise Singapore.

“At Aikit, we believe in building technology that solves real problems for everyday people and businesses. ChefGenie is the natural next step, an evolution of that vision into a future-ready platform that supports local enterprises, uplifts communities and delivers hot, quality meals at the touch of a button. We are happy to have launched in Punggol Digital District. and look forward to sharing food from our local brands with the rest of Singapore,” added Sky Goh, VP, Business & Operations, Aikit Pte Ltd.
If you want to taste the future, head to the ChefGenie-powered machines at Punggol Coast Mall (PDD) from 9–14 September, 12pm–8pm, and let the system cook while you watch.
