On 9 August, Our Tampines Hub (OTH) turned into a full-blown celebration, marking Singapore’s 60th birthday and its own 8th anniversary in a way only Tampines knows how.
Residents poured into OTH for a live screening of the National Day Parade, and if you’ve ever belted out “Home” with a thousand others under an open sky, you’ll know it’s a goosebump-inducing experience. Flags were waved, voices were lifted in song, and strangers became friends, if only for the evening.
Just when you thought the vibes couldn’t climb any higher, the night sky erupted with fireworks in a dazzling crescendo, cementing this year’s SG60 celebration as one to remember.

Held at the Town Square and drawing an estimated 5,000 attendees, OTH’s SG60 National Day Concert had a roll call of Singapore’s most cherished artists; Louis Soliano, Hong Shao Xuan, Li Fei Hui, Hady Mirza, Shabir, and Jasmine Sokko.

Earlier in the day, Grassroots Advisers, community partners, and residents gathered to sing the National Anthem and recite the Pledge.
And in true Tampines fashion, the community made history (again) by setting a new Singapore record: the largest 60-minute pickleball team challenge. A grand total of 567 participants swung paddles in synchronised joy, thanks to a collaboration with the Tampines West Community Sports Network.

From 8 to 10 August and again on 16 August, OTH continued to be abuzz with jam sessions, cultural showcases, live performances, and interactive workshops.
As the hub looks forward to the years ahead, it will always be a place where Singapore lives, laughs, and grows together.
