HONOR has unveiled its latest foldable flagship: the Magic V5.
Launched in Singapore ahead of its global release, the HONOR Magic V5 whispers confidence with a 4.1mm profile when open, tipping the scales at a barely-there 217 grams.
In fact, when folded, it’s slimmer than a pair of stacked one-dollar coins.
Singapore has the honour of being the first country outside China to get the Magic V5. Pre-orders opened with a price tag of $2,199, and early adopters walk away with gifts worth up to $837, including a HONOR Pad 10 and Magic Pen.
With M1 and Singtel, you could walk away with the Magic V5 for $0 upfront, while StarHub throws in savings up to $710 with bonus trade-in cashback.
Here’s the magic trick: HONOR has somehow squeezed a 5,820mAh Silicon-Carbon Battery into this svelte frame. That’s wafer-thin, just 2.59mm thick, but with enough juice for a full day’s work. Top it up with 66W wired or 50W wireless charging, and you’ll never need to panic at 5%.
Under the hood is a cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor built on a 3nm process, designed for multitasking, gaming, and AI-powered everything. Speaking of AI…
The AI Falcon Camera System is no slouch, featuring a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with up to 100x zoom, a 50MP wide shooter, and a 50MP ultra-wide angle for when you want to capture everything, everywhere, all at once.
But the real party trick lies in the post. AI Outpainting for imaginative crops. AI Eraser for ghosting out photobombers. AI Super Zoom to sharpen details from miles away. All right there in your gallery, no third-party apps needed.
Foldables have long battled concerns over fragility. HONOR’s response? Throw everything at it. Carbon Fibre-Reinforced inner display. Nano-Crystal Shield on the outer screen. Super Steel Hinge with 2,300MPa tensile strength. And resistance ratings of IP58 and IP59 for water and dust.
It’s tested to endure over 100 folds a day, or 35kg of pressure if you happen to sit on it. Not that we’d recommend doing that, unless you enjoy anxiety.
Open the Magic V5 and you’re greeted with a roomy 7.95-inch inner screen. Its 6.43-inch outer screen handles your quick replies and casual scrolling without unfolding. Pair that with HONOR’s new Three Split Screen interface, and you’ve got a multitasking beast in your pocket.
If you’re deep in the Apple ecosystem, fear not. HONOR has rolled out iCloud Cloning to make the switch painless. Messages, notes, calendars, photos, just a few taps and your digital life transitions over.
HONOR Connect also enables seamless file transfers across Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS.
Available in four shades (Dawn Gold, Ivory White, Silk Brown, and classic Black), the Magic V5 comes with a generous 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
