GREE, a global air conditioning giant, has made its entrance into Singapore.
Founded in 1991, GREE has become a titan in the air-conditioning universe, quietly dominating the global household air-con market for an impressive 18 years straight.
By 2024, GREE had already been recognised as the global leader in split air conditioners. In China’s central air conditioning market alone, its VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems claimed a commanding 20% slice, while its unitary systems took an even meatier 35.6%.
So, why Singapore? Why now?
Singapore is a proving ground. With its notoriously high standards, stringent energy certifications like the Green Mark Platinum, and its role as a hub for design consultants like Arcadis and Arup, it’s the ideal sandbox for brands like GREE to test, prove, and launch their next big thing.
And test, they shall. Already, GREE has rolled out its “Zero Carbon Source” photovoltaic DC load system, an innovation that delivers a very grounded 99.04% direct-drive photovoltaic efficiency. Or their permanent magnet synchronous water chiller (quite the mouthful), now humming away at GlobalFoundries’ semiconductor plant.
Local Support, Global Thinking

With their Singapore office, GREE is also introducing a full-fledged support system – after-sales, technical training, and localised product customisation.
There’s even collaboration with local tertiary institutions to upskill the region’s next generation of HVAC professionals. And considering the merciless humidity of our equatorial climate, they’ve brought along their corrosion-resistant Black Fin condenser technology.
For those itching to upgrade their cooling game, the first wave of GREE products is already here. Leading the charge are the CHARMO split wall-mounted series, the FREE MATCH multi-split systems, and the ever-versatile VRF units. These are wall fans with smart tech like tri-layer filtration, Colasma plasma purification, and even self-cleaning features.
And yes, there’s an app for that. The GREE+ app lets users remotely manage temperature settings, track energy usage, and even control their units remotely. All part of what GREE calls its “i-Feel” technology.
Where to Get It?
For those interested, GREE has partnered with a strong network of local distributors. Whether you’re kitting out a shoebox flat or a boutique hotel, there’s a team ready to walk you through your next cooling solution.
