“Twisted” is the hauntingly tender lead single from RINES’ upcoming debut EP, set to drop on 27 June 2025.
For the unacquainted, RINES is not your garden-variety alt-R&B artist. She’s a diarist of the soul who isn’t afraid to murmur secrets into your ear while the world spins too fast outside.
In her latest EP “Twisted,” she offers a moody meditation on what it feels like when desire and fear dance too close to each other on the edge of emotional exposure.
“It’s about feeling raw and open, like someone’s gotten under your skin in a way that’s terrifying and magnetic,” RINES shares. “There’s fear, but also this deep craving to be known.”

The track is built on a simmering backbone of sultry melodies and atmospheric production that sounds like it was dreamt up under the weight of midnight skies. Listen closely and you’ll find real weight lying in its emotional honesty. It’s a confession wrapped in candlelight, dipped in vulnerability, and set to a soundtrack of aching intimacy.
Each track in the collection acts as a page from an anxious romantic’s diary; introspective, hesitant, but always heartfelt. With this debut, RINES is inviting listeners into her inner world, raw edges and all.
From the bossa-inflected “Little Bird” that flutters with the pain of letting go, to “Reach,” a journey into faith draped in alternative R&B, and the hushed intimacy of “Hush,” a duet with Kevin Brendan, each song opens another door in RINES’ ever-expanding sonic house.
There’s also “Clown,” where haunting theatricality crashes into explosive beats, and the lo-fi intimacy of “When You Fall” and “Kiss Me in the Rain,” which feel like they were recorded from under the duvet on a rainy afternoon.
If you’re after a pop tartlet with polish, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for an artist who offers solidarity through song, who gives shape to the complicated quiet inside you, RINES may just be your mirror.

Twisted is out on 27 June 2025 across all major streaming platforms. You can follow RINES at @itsrinesbaby to keep up with her journey.
