With its razor-thin profile, impressive screens, and robust battery life, the OPPO Find N5 quite literally redefines the foldable smartphone market.
Foldable smartphones have long carried the promise of a brighter future, albeit often accompanied by practical compromises. Screens with distracting creases, bulky bodies, and fragile hinges turn buyers into cautious custodians.
Yet, with thenew OPPO Find N5, it appears someone finally got the memo. Here’s a device that doesn’t merely bend, but elegantly redefines what a foldable can, and indeed, should be.
slim yet substantial.

At a mere 8.93mm thick when folded, it holds the current title for the world’s thinnest premium foldable phone. Unfolded, the device is an astonishingly slim 4.21mm.
Does thinness sacrifice durability? Fortunately, no. The Find N5 is built like a precision Swiss watch, its hinge mechanism moves smoothly and quietly, almost whispering a sense of confidence every time you open or close the phone.

Weighing 229 grams, the device is not feather-light, but the balanced weight distribution ensures it feels substantial rather than cumbersome. The matte glass back also does a great job of repelling fingerprints, which is good news for folks who rather not use the phone with a case.
two screens, twice the fun?

Let’s focus on the screens because, after all, that’s the star attraction here. The Find N5 offers two beautifully vibrant OLED displays; an external 6.62-inch cover screen for your quick checks and an expansive internal 8.12-inch foldable screen for immersive multimedia experiences. Both screens boast 120Hz refresh rates, making scrolling and gaming incredibly smooth.
The internal screen deserves special praise for managing to reduce that dreaded crease to a mere shadow. Yes, it’s still there if you really squint at it under the bright tropical sun, but during normal use, it practically disappears.
Speaking of sunlight, at 1,400 nits peak brightness, outdoor visibility is never an issue, even if you’re lounging at a beach on a bright Sunday afternoon.
no compromise, just pure power.

Under its sleek exterior, the OPPO Find N5 packs Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
During my time testing the device, juggling multiple browser tabs, emails, social media apps, and even running graphics-intensive games like Genshin Impact didn’t break a sweat.
battery life is decent for now.

A common Achilles’ heel for foldables has always been battery life. Thankfully, OPPO seems to have cracked that nut with a generous 5,600mAh battery. It comfortably powered me through a full day’s rigorous usage, including streaming videos, navigation through Google Maps, constant WhatsApp messaging, and sessions of binge watching.
When you do run low, the 80W SuperVOOC wired charging will get you from zero to hero in about half an hour. For those inclined towards convenience, there’s also 50W wireless charging, fast enough to juice up quickly.
sharp shooter with minor quirks.

The Find N5 comes equipped with a triple-lens setup: a 50MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For most everyday photography, the cameras do a commendable job.

Shots taken with the main sensor are crisp, vibrant, and well-exposed. The telephoto lens produces sharp details even at extended zoom ranges.

But perfection eludes us yet again. The ultrawide camera, while decent, doesn’t quite match the consistency and quality of the other two lenses. Shots occasionally appear a bit softer at the edges, and you’ll especially notice it since the main screen is so large.

That said, video recording capabilities are excellent, with impressive stabilisation and vivid colour reproduction. Whether you’re capturing family moments or creating content, the Find N5 won’t disappoint.
connectivity and comfort.

Running on ColorOS 15 atop Android 15, the user experience is remarkably smooth. The software feels clean, intuitive, and responsive, without much bloatware. Where it shines brightest is in cross-platform connectivity with the new O+ Connect feature.
For those who swear by macOS, you can now remotely access your MacBook, transfer files wirelessly, or mirror your desktop onto your foldable screen. Something you could only do with iPhones until now.
is this finally “The One”?

The OPPO Find N5 is slim, elegant, powerful, and packed with thoughtful software enhancements, it redefines expectations of what a foldable phone should be.
Sure, it isn’t flawless and it is priced at S$2,199, but these quibbles fade in comparison to the overall experience. If you’re considering venturing into the world of foldables, the Find N5 is undoubtedly one of the strongest contenders currently available.
