The Honor Magic7 Pro aims to go toe-to-toe with the biggest names in the industry.
As with most smartphones in 2025, it boasts cutting-edge AI features, an impressive camera system, and lightning-fast performance. But is it enough to stand out from the crowd?
design & build.

There’s something premium about the way the Honor Magic7 Pro feels in hand. The glass back, polished aluminum frame, and subtly curved edges make it a device that screams flagship. It’s smooth, but not so slippery that it constantly feels like it’s going to slide off a table.
Honor has flattened the display and frame slightly compared to its predecessor, which makes the phone much easier to handle. For anyone who occasionally fumbles their device, this tweak is a welcome change.

If you’re worried about durability, the Rhino Glass on the front and back is designed to withstand everyday wear and tear. We (obviously) haven’t dropped it yet, but it has survived a few close calls without a scratch.
The IP68 rating means it can withstand dust and submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. Whether you’re caught in a downpour or you accidentally knock it into a sink, this phone should hold up just fine.
display.

The 6.8-inch OLED screen on the Magic7 Pro has a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, intelligently adjusting between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on what you’re doing, saving battery while still delivering a silky-smooth experience.
Colors pop, blacks are deep, and the 1,280 x 2,800 resolution ensures sharp visuals no matter what you’re watching. Honor has also cranked up the brightness to an impressive 2,600 nits, making outdoor visibility a non-issue.

The one thing I did notice, though, is that Honor has moved away from the extreme curved edges of previous models, opting for a more subtle curvature.
performance.

At the heart of the Magic7 Pro is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM. Apps open in an instant, switching between multiple tasks is seamless, and gaming performance is top-notch.
However, there’s one issue – thermal management. After extended gaming sessions (or shooting long 4K videos), the phone does get warm. That said, Honor has included an advanced vapor chamber cooling system, which does help dissipate heat over time.
The Magic7 Pro runs Android 15 with Honor’s MagicOS 9 on top. It’s clean, fast, and intuitive, with minimal bloatware. Storage-wise, 512GB of internal storage means you’ll have plenty of room for photos, videos, and apps. With no expandable storage, that’s definitely a good thing.
cameras.

Honor is betting big on its camera system, and they’ve done a fantastic job… mostly.
The triple-camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, 50MP ultrawide lens and 200MP telephoto lens, with 30x AI Super Zoom that actually delivers usable shots.

Images taken with the main sensor are sharp, well-exposed, and full of detail. Honor’s AI enhancement is impressive, but sometimes a bit aggressive, occasionally making photos look too polished, almost unnatural.
The telephoto lens is the star here. At 3.5x optical zoom, the detail is fantastic, and even at 30x digital zoom, the results are surprisingly usable. It’s not quite as good as Samsung’s Space Zoom, but it holds its own.
Low-light photography is solid, thanks to Honor’s AI-assisted night mode. However, it’s not quite as strong as Google’s Night Sight or Apple’s Deep Fusion. Shadows sometimes lose detail, and the occasional shot has that overprocessed look.

Honor has also leaned into AI-powered features, like AI Motion Capture, which helps freeze moving subjects. But again, it relies on cloud processing, meaning some features won’t work without an internet connection.
battery & charging.

With a 5,270mAh battery, you’d expect all-day endurance. Even with heavy use (gaming, video streaming, GPS navigation), I consistently ended the day with around 20-30% battery left.
Where the Magic7 Pro really shines is charging speed. 100W wired charging means you can go from 0 to 50% in just 15 minutes, and a full charge in under 30 minutes. It’s so fast that you barely even think about battery anxiety anymore.
verdict.

The Honor Magic7 Pro is undeniably impressive. It offers blazing-fast performance, a beautiful display, a capable camera system, and best-in-class charging speeds. It feels like a proper flagship through and through.
That said, it isn’t perfect. The AI processing can be overzealous, heat management needs work, and the lack of a charger in the box is frustrating.
Would I personally use it as my daily driver? Yes, but after Honor has made a few tweaks to the AI processing settings.
