The Canon EOS R5 Mark II is an impressive successor to the EOS R5.
“For content creators who dare to dream the impossible, we have the perfect tool for them, the EOS R5 Mark II. With this camera, they now possess the ability to turn their imagination into reality,” said David Yeo, Senior Marketing Manager of Consumer Business, Singapore Operations, Canon Singapore.
At the heart of the EOS R5 Mark II is the new 45-megapixel BSI stacked CMOS sensor, paired with the all-new DIGIC Accelerator and DIGIC X image processor.
This combination boosts image quality and enables features like accelerated AF and subject tracking.
Equipped with Canon’s Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system, the EOS R5 Mark II leverages deep learning to significantly improve subject tracking and detection.
For the first time in the “5 series,” Eye Control AF is included, allowing users to shift the focus simply by looking at the subject. This feature, along with updated optics and improved detection algorithms, ensures faster and more accurate autofocus.
Additionally, the focus preset function allows photographers and videographers to store and recall specific focus positions, making it easier to adapt to different shooting situations quickly.
The EOS R5 Mark II is built for video too. With internal 8K DCI 60p RAW video recording and industry-standard recording modes, this camera offers professional-grade video production capabilities.
Features like 4K DCI 60p SRAW recording, simultaneous proxy recording, and slow-motion capabilities in 4K and Full HD make it a versatile tool for any creative project.
The EOS R5 Mark II also includes Custom Pictures from the Cinema EOS system, allowing for in-camera LUT applications to better visualise the final output.
The file system has also been updated to XF-AVC S/XF-HEVC S, aligning with Cinema EOS standards for streamlined multi-camera workflows. Cinema EOS tools like the waveform monitor, false colours, and zebra display are also incorporated.
Designed to withstand demanding shoots, the EOS R5 Mark II features dust- and drip-resistant weather sealing. Its blackout-free EVF is twice as bright as the EOS R5’s, and the camera boasts a 5-axis In-Body IS (Image Stabilizer) with improved algorithms, offering up to 8.5 stops of image stabilisation when used with compatible RF lenses.
It supports the latest wireless and wired communication protocols, including Wi-Fi 6/6E and 2.5GBase-T wired LAN, ensuring high-speed file transmission for news reporting and editorial work.
The EOS R5 Mark II will be available at Canon-authorised dealers by the end of August 2024. Stay tuned for more details on pricing.
