Epson has recently teamed up with the ASEAN Fashion Designers Showcase (AFDS) to host the ASEAN International Fashion Week (AIFW) at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore.
This collaboration aims to celebrate the unique style and diversity of the ASEAN region while shining a spotlight on environmentally conscious textile printing.
The event saw over 850 attendees from the public, designers, and industry partners.
Epson partnered with 11 designers from AFDS for the Epson Runway Show.
Using Epson’s digital textile printing technology, each designer showcased their creations brought to life by the SureColor series printers, including the SureColor F6430, F9430H, and F10030.
Remember the old days when fabric printing was a water-guzzling, chemically intensive process? By using these printers, the designers highlighted how high-quality fashion can be sustainable.
During the opening address, Siew Jin Kiat, Regional Managing Director at Epson Southeast Asia, spotlighted Epson’s collaboration with renowned Japanese fashion designer Yuima Nakazato.
Nakazato’s avant-garde collection showcased fabrics that are thinner, more flexible, and optimised for sustainable printing.
Beyond the glitz and glam of the runway, Epson and AFDS hosted a panel discussion that delved into the importance of sustainability in fashion and technology.
The panel featured industry heavyweights like Desmond Gay from Epson Southeast Asia, Hayden Ng of AFDS, Rocco Leo Gaglioti from FNL Network, and other international fashion leaders.
Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing at Epson Singapore, said: “At Epson, we believe that innovation and technology play a crucial role in driving positive change in the fashion industry. We look forward to continuing fostering a more sustainable future for generations to come.”
Hayden Ng, Premier Founder and Singapore Fashion Ambassador for AFDS, echoed this sentiment: “We are thrilled to partner with Epson again to bring sustainable fashion to the centre stage in Singapore. The partnership allows us to spotlight a fashion collection that truly represents the essence of the region while raising awareness on sustainable circular fashion practices.”
