No matter the era, we love our jeans. They’re an essential staple for the wardrobe, and work with almost every outfit. The only downside? They’re not always the greenest in the sustainable fashion pile. Levi’s however, is setting out to change that.

Levi’s latest collection, preaches a sustainable side to jeans that’s new, stylish, and on its journey to being waste-free. Building on years of ongoing research, this season’s collection upholds the WellThread® ethos of working to reduce the chemical, energy and water impacts of apparel production.
The latest items also use 100% transitional cotton, which is cotton created by small shareholder farmers in India as they transition their fields to a production system that sustains the health of soils, ecosystems, and people by relying on ecological processes, biodiversity and farming cycles adapted to local conditions. The brand supports these farmers’ by taking on parts of the farmers’ financial risk during this transition period by purchasing their transitional cotton crop.
However it doesn’t stop there – Levi’s® WellThread® jeans are then dyed with plant-based, natural dyes which are 100% plant-based indigo and 100% bio-based black pigment. These natural dyes create the capsule’s dark and inky look on classic silhouettes.

The collection itself features outfits for both men and women, so there’s a sustainable option for everybody.
For women, check out the Baggy Dad, a ‘90s-inspired loose and relaxed fitting pair of jeans, or the Bellos Trucker, a relaxed, boxy fit with a clean look. You might also want to consider the Rosewood Shirt, which is made with deep, rich, and inky indigo.
The Men’s collection includes a “versatile straight fit 551Z”, a Relaxed Trucker jacket lined with a flannel, and an Arrowood Shirt, a classic denim shirt with an oversized fit.
