Give your old textiles new life with ZALORA’s Snap and Drop program!
Trends might come and go, but textiles stay – even when they’re out of style! Which is why ZALORA, Asia’s leading fashion and lifestyle e-commerce destination, has launched a Snap and Drop apparels donation program. Now you can donate your old clothes to be recycled, and stay green even when you’re purchasing new items!
ZALORA and Life Line Clothing.
Part of ZALORA’s sustainability initiatives, the fashion site has teamed up with Life Line Clothing, a local textile collector, that aims to provide corporations with the opportunity to explore textile recycling. As part of this program, collected textiles will be diverted from the landfills and instead sent to Life Line to be sorted, reused, refurbished, or upcycled. Textiles that are still in good condition may even be made into household items like gloves or tote bags!
The best part? If you’re interested in donating your pre-loved apparels, there are 60 textile bins available islandwide, even in the heartlands. So you don’t have to travel too far to donate your clothes! Check out the full map here. You’ll also receive a S$10 cashback on your next ZALORA purchase for your donation!
making your donation.
Taking part in ZALORA’s Snap and Drop Program is easy. All you have to do is:
- Pack any clothes, shoes, bags or other fabric items.
- Snap a picture of your bag of donated items in front of the collection box at one of the
drop-off locations. - Drop your items into the collection box, and note down the collection box number
(SG0XXX) located at the front of the box. - Fill up a form located on the ZALORA website to obtain cashback .
If you’re more of a visual learner, head to Instagram or Facebook and search up the hashtag #ZALORASnapAndDrop! ZALORA has worked with influencers to create demonstrations, so you’ll know exactly what to do when you’re donating your pre-loved clothes.
the best part? it’s give and take!
That’s not the end of it though, because you won’t just be donating! Life Line will be offering selected upcycled items to customers through the ZALORA app too, so keep your eyes peeled, because you’ll also be able to buy something new (and environmentally-friendly!) at the end of this program.
Oh, and if you’re reading this from outside Singapore don’t fret! Snap and Drop has also been rolled out in both Singapore and Malaysia, and has plans to expand to other markets. So the program might make its way to your shores any day now 😉
